The Days of Our Lives

It is a woman’s plight—counting, always counting.

We count the days of the month and the months of the year. We count the weeks of pregnancy, kicks of babies still in the womb, and the length and amount of contractions in a given day or hour. We are responsible to track hours of infant sleep, ounces consumed, and diapers produced. We count the days, weeks, and months of our children’s lives. (Sigh) I am exhausted!

Add to the list the responsibility to keep tally of the change left in the account, calories consumed, etc. and I suddenly realize why I have such a hard time shutting my mind off. There are so many things to keep track of it seems my brain is forever calculating.

Some of the figures on my mind lately:

1 day to my sweetheart’s birthday

25 days left at work

2 months until my brother comes home

And the biggest one…

33 weeks and 4 days pregnant, only 6.5 weeks to go!
