The Days of Our Lives
We count the days of the month and the months of the year. We count the weeks of pregnancy, kicks of babies still in the womb, and the length and amount of contractions in a given day or hour. We are responsible to track hours of infant sleep, ounces consumed, and diapers produced. We count the days, weeks, and months of our children’s lives. (Sigh) I am exhausted!
Add to the list the responsibility to keep tally of the change left in the account, calories consumed, etc. and I suddenly realize why I have such a hard time shutting my mind off. There are so many things to keep track of it seems my brain is forever calculating.
Some of the figures on my mind lately:
1 day to my sweetheart’s birthday
25 days left at work
2 months until my brother comes home
And the biggest one…
33 weeks and 4 days pregnant, only 6.5 weeks to go!

Hello in there... anybody home?
So here we are at 22 weeks—we are half way there—and Tyler is so anxious for this little girl to arrive he can hardly stand it (he is so cute). Isn't the cruel truth about expecting a little one? It’s the longest lesson in patience I have ever experienced—training you up for what’s to come I suppose.
We waited until 11 weeks to get our first glimpse of this little one and to hear her heartbeat and another 9 weeks to definitively say—it's a girl! We are still waiting to feel her squirm, kick or hiccup—anything really.
The worst part may be I have absolutely no control over any of this. I love to make lists and cross off completed tasks. I would carefully plan every aspect of my life if I could—I have certainly tried. Yet despite careful planning no amount of lists will change this little waiting game. We are on her time now—guess I am not very good at waiting for Christmas morning either.

I'll be Home for Christmas If Only in My Dreams
What a year it has been. We moved to Midland, TX, Tyler and I both started new jobs and are expecting our first baby in June.
This time last year I could not have imagined where we would be this Christmas and what we would be doing. We have been so blessed; this past year has been quite an adventure. I hope this coming year brings as much excitement and opportunities.
The one downside to having so recently moved means it will just be Tyler and I this year for Christmas. It will defiantly be different, quiet. I can’t help but long for our friends and families so far away. Our Moms, dads, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews have been on our minds as we decorated and prepared for the holiday. We certainly will miss their company and antics as we celebrate. So a quick word to them from our little corner of Texas:
We miss you so much! You will be in our thoughts as we dream of home this Christmas. We love you all! Hugs and kisses all around and Merry Christmas!

The Grand Plan
Our place will be available to move in just in time for Tyler to start work on the 29th. We are packing up and heading out on Sunday--24 hours in the moving truck--yuck! But I am excited to move in and set up our new home.
After moving the hard part begins--living apart. Tyler will stay on in Midland to work and I plan on returning to Provo for another 10 weeks. Poor Tyler seems to be getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop in this arrangement--living in a new city at a new job, away from family and friends. I am going lucky enough to be staying with my Grandma and will have my sisters and friends nearby. Not ideal, but you do what you have to I guess.
That's really all our news for now. We are packing, packing, packing and wondering why we have so much stuff. Stay tuned--pictures of our new place to come.
